Some hopefully helpful content for folks with ADHD or folks teaching those with ADHD

Welcome!

After tweeting about my experiences as a person with ADHD in higher education for a few years, I thought there might be a space on the internet for exploring disability and ADHD in academia. I thought my experiences might be able to help students, teaching assistants, professors, researchers, and academics in general understand what it's like to have ADHD in higher education and how to fight the ableism discrimination common in colleges and universities everywhere.

You can find out a tiny bit more about me under the About tab.

How content is organized

The site is primarily organized into two sections: learning and teaching. We're all students in some contexts and, at other times, we're the ones doing the teaching. There are categories or tags to further break things down into undergraduate, graduate, and so forth, but some of the content will be applicable to anyone wanting to learn who has ADHD, so it's in the learning section with lots of tags.

You will hopefully find useful content in both sections. If you're giving a presentation, even as a first year student, you might find useful information about presenting in the teaching section (because you're the one conveying the information). If you're a professor with ADHD trying to learn a new skill or struggling to organize your thoughts, you might find useful content in the learning section. Think less about titles and more about what it is you're trying to do: learn information or convey it.

There is also a section about ADHD in general. Here there are misconceptions about ADHD, the science behind it, and so forth. Lastly, there are sections for contacting me and learning a bit more about me.
